Our services include:
- Technical advising:
- Tailings management: provide advice and support related to dam safety management (e.g., OMS manuals and TARPs) and governance & risk management (e.g., GISTM, MAC TSM, corporate standards)
- Mine Closure: lead closure plan development for tailings and water management infrastructure, guide integration of closure considerations into operational and study-stages of projects, deliver closure planning workshops
- Technical integration:
- Facilitate multidisciplinary teams working on tailings, water management, and closure projects to support rapid progress and holistic problem solving
- Project execution
- Deliver project planning support including defining scope, schedule, and roles & responsibilities
- Provide project management coaching and process improvement
About Us
Kathleen Hanley, MEERL, P.Eng. (BC), Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Kathleen is a geotechnical engineer who uses a multidisciplinary and systems-oriented approach. She has over fifteen years of design experience on tailings, water management, and mine closure projects. Kathleen has worked in the development, construction, operations, and closure stages of mining projects throughout the Americas. She has held leadership and management roles that have honed her scope development, project implementation, and communication expertise. Kathleen is skilled at working with teams to develop a systemic understanding of a problem and potential solutions, and at supporting implementation. She has extensive international travel and work experience and is adept at working interculturally.
In addition to holding a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia, Kathleen broadened her perspective on the mining industry through a multidisciplinary Master of Earth and Energy Resources Leadership from Queen’s University and strengthened her ability to work with difference through a Certificate in Intercultural Studies from the University of British Columbia.
